Math and pasta...

Maddie's working on her multiplication, so we used a bag of pasta and after that, the girls opened a restaurant and served it!  They had a blast!!  They played restaurant for a few hours!!

A family affair!!

 Mark took Saturday off so he could work on the kitchen ceiling and of course George was here to help too, what a lifesaver!!!  This project has been (and will continue to be) a group effort, everyone has been pitching in!!!  Even the girls help by sweeping or giving words of encouragement, so nice!!!

 
I took a picture of the living room ceiling because that was my job...to pull all the staples out...and from the hallway...that was super fun!  (Better than drywalling though!!!)

Miaya and I picked it up and unloaded it today...now we choose a colour and I get to work...

Walls!

When I left Monday, Grandpa George and Gramma Shirley were here putting up drywall for us.  Man, we are the luckiest people to have such wonderful help!!!  They work FAST and with Mark working 7 days a week, we are very appreciative!!  So, today I ripped the living room ceiling down!  I love destruction!!!  Our project is moving along quite well!!

A night away!

I took the girls to a hotel in Toronto for the night.  Daddy met us there after work because we were waiting to see my nephew...oh yeah and his parents!!  Ha ha!!!  They had a stopover for the night before they flew away for the rest of winter...jerks!!

 

Even though it was a quick visit, it was a good one!  The kids played, well, jumped on the beds and the adults got caught up until the wee hours of the morning.  And Miaya slept in a "Big girl bed" for the first time because Declan needed her playpen.  It was so great to see them, I will take anytime I can get!!

Go big or stay home...right?!

This whole thing started with Mark putting 1 new vent in beside the fridge...Well, 1 wall was ruined so why not rip the rest down too??!! 

 We have been wanting to do this for SOOOOO long...We ripped everything down today, and outside it went. All walls will be replaced with drywall.  (2 layers came down, wallboard and panelling...)  The stuccoed kitchen ceiling is being covered, the living room ceiling will be replaced with beautiful pine and YES all the beautiful light fixtures will be replaced too...finally is what you are all saying...lol!!!  (And Maddie is getting a new look in her room too!!!)
 

Tonnes of snow!!

Makes it supereasy to build a snowman family!!  Anything to see these beautiful smiles!!!

Sleepovers are fun!!!!

We had Zavhier over for a sleepover and had an AWESOME time!!!  A great way to start January!!!  We went snowmobiling and 4-wheeling the whole 2 days he was with us!! 

And when his parents came to pick him up, we all went out for some more fun until well after dark...We had a truly wonderful time!!  And can't wait for him to come back again soon!!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

We spent the day indoors today, it was quite windy/chilly out!  We played some board games...And got all the Christmas stuff cleaned up!! 

We are ready for 2013!!!  Bring it on!!
