After Daddy got home from work tonight, the girls were super excited to carve their pumpkins that we picked up today and they did a great job!!
Looking pretty good!!
The girls and I headed to the Pumpkin Farm and spent quite a long time in the corn mazes they had! It was a muddy mess after all the rain we have been getting and Miaya only wiped out once!
It was a great way tot spend the afternoon, just me and our girls!!
After Miaya decorated her face with stickers, we headed to the bus stop and had to wait for Maddie's bus because the cows were in the way! Never a dull moment here in the sticks!
Miaya baked a cake for Nana this morning...and taste tested it!!
And when Maddie got home, the girls decorated it! They did a fabulous job.
And it was all ready to eat when Nana got home. I hope you had a great birthday Mom/Nana!! (We had you in Vegas last year, so this must seem pretty lame but at least there was cake!! HA HA!!)
I will give you a quick rundown on how our weekend and my surgery went...All went as expected during the surgery. I know now that I should never take certain medications...I do not like there effects, different story...Mark and the girls got to watch the procedure on a monitor, which they thought was cool. I didn't think anything about a doctor playing with my vision was cool, however, we are all entitled to our own opinions. Procedure went as planned, we headed home, me very uncomfortable and not enjoying the meds, tried to sleep. When we got home, I went straight to bed and woke up in time for some soup, I was feeling good. Slept well Friday night, and we headed to the Gramma and Grandpa's for Thanksgiving Turkey! (Now I was told that if I were to have any side effects or discomfort, they would come after 24 hours and last anywhere from 72 hours to a week...) Feeling OK with my big sunglasses on, I lazed on the couch and offered no help. And then the smells, spices and the heat stared to make my eyes burn...A LOT! And water and itch and during dinner, I couldn't take it anymore. The drops weren't helping, nothing was. Miaya was totally expired and passed out on the couch and a nice family dinner has turned into a racing mess because Mark wanted to get me home...I felt terrible for him, dealing with an overemotional daughter and wife! Anyhoo...when we got home he convinced me to take some meds they gave me so I could sleep, which helped until 2:30 am...and it started all over again...at this point I was thinking I made a HUGE mistake! My doctor called to check on me Sunday morning because after Saturday's visit, he said unless he felt necessary, he wouldn't see me until Tuesday. Well, he wanted to see me ASAP. All were normal side effects, unfortunately I was having some of the extreme ones...lucky me. So, Sunday was hell on earth, Monday not much better and then Tuesday was a little better. We decided to do it on the long weekend because Mark was home to babysit me and drive me around...thank god!! He was a HUGE help and I'm feeling well enough for him to go back to work tomorrow. Since I am still unable to drive, my Dad is coming to take me to my appointment tomorrow.
After many years of contemplating LASIK eye surgery, today is the day! And because I have to be different, I will be having PRK done, which is longer recovery time and (sometimes) different pain/discomfort. The Dr's say the benefits far out way the potential pain...I'm about to find out! It was an early start this morning and because it is a PA Day, both girls had to make the drive...and the wait! Stay tuned for how it turns out!!
Getting the wood done is really a group effort. We had a few helpers over the weekend and Mark was able to get it all cut but now the splitting continues. Our little splitter is great but our buddy brought his over and it is awesome!! Much bigger and faster!! So every day we work on it and the weather has been cooperative so far this week so I've been taking advantage of it! Miaya comes out with me during the day and plays while I split...And at night when Daddy gets home we head outside for a little while before bed and work away. The girls played in the leaves tonight and had fun!
We took advantage of the beautiful weather today and spent the morning outside hanging some Christmas lights, putting all of our solar lights away and doing some other things to get ready for fall. And then we watched our load of logs get unloaded...Which we now have to cut, split and stack so we can stay warm this winter!
