2014 OLYMPICS!!!

 have been on and we are all loving it!  I tape most of the events and Maddie gets caught up on them when we have time!  She LOVES them and Miaya has been learning all about the different countries!  Fun and learning all in one.

 

 So, sometimes we eat and watch...or snuggle and ask lots of questions!  Proud to be Canadians!!!

 Watching week at Modern this week!  Maddie loves all of her dance classes and does so well...just not much of a "poser" for the camera...hence the funny face!  We love to see how passionate she is, it's awesome to see her confidence!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MASON!!

 Our nephew is turning 10 this week!!  WOW!!!  Double digits...He invited Maddie to his laser tag birthday party, so we headed down after school tonight!  Maddie didn't participate in a whole game, it just wasn't her thing but we still had fun!

It's always great to be able to see the cousins together and to hang out with my brother and family! 

Family Day

 It was a COLD day today but we made the best of it!  Daddy had to work today, which sucked.  Uncle Bud and Mel brought the kids over for the afternoon and we all had lots of fun!  We all took turns going down on our sleds and stayed warm.  (It was -25 with a wind chill!)  Even the little ones did awesome!

Happy Valentines Day!

 Not a holiday I care much about but we always get the girls a few goodies.  We made cards this year for each other, well Miaya and I did!

I kind of felt like a giant ass because sitting at the table for me this morning was a card (nothing unusual) and this picture frame.  My initial thought was "Oh, thanks for the pink picture frame...? " Maddie says "Mom, who are those for?"  "What for Maddie?"  "Those...."  She was pointing to the earrings poked through the little girl's eyes...HA!!  Again, at first I thought how sweet it was of Daddy to get his little girl earrings....but at second glance, nope, there is no way he would have bought them for the kid who is always losing her earrings.  They were for me!!  And they are beautiful!!!  I am so spoiled!  My hubby treats me like a princess!!  And all I got for him was a homemade card...

Daddy was off work today, so we went for a snowmobile ride.  It was cold out but the sun was so nice!!!  We ended up at our neighbours for dinner, so we had a great love day!  Hope you all did as well!

Our Lake walks!

After our regular morning walk, which is about 5 kms, Miaya and I have been enjoying our lake walks too!  I get Miaya all bundled up in our big sled, pack some water and snacks and head over to the island, where we park our butts for a break and soak up some sunshine before heading back.  It's over 7 kms and quite a workout.  There is a TONNE of snow to trudge through but a great way to enjoy the fresh air!  Sometimes Gramma Shirley joins us too!  Jersey is pooped by time we get back too!

 We have so much snow still...as you can see by the road sign Maddie is standing beside!  Daddy went for a snowmobile ride...and got stuck!  HA!!

 

 Maddie really dislikes when her Daddy and I kiss...what kid doesn't...so we asked her to take a picture of us and then SMOOCH!!  HA HA!!

Sick day:(

 Poor Maddie was sick to her tummy on the bus last night on her way home.  I got her home and all cleaned up for some snuggles on the couch and a good night sleep.  I kept her home today (which I am so very thankful to have that option to do so!)  She had a bit of a headache but enjoyed a quiet day watching movies and making bracelets!  She was feeling herself again...full of wit after dinner!  Miaya had fun today too, making bracelets with her big sister!  It was a beautiful day, sunny and quite warm, so Miaya and I spent 3 hours building a fort and playing!  Our fingers are crossed that the rest of us will remain healthy (which we will!!)

 My hubby built the railing and I sanded and stained it all!  Another group effort that we are quite happy with!

 

 We still have to find a cap that we like for the post and it needs some corner round but looks pretty great!

 

Now, we can order our new floor for the entrance way!

Some Sunday Fun!

 Daddy had to work today so he missed all of our outside fun!  The kids played together for hours before they had to go home!

 

They had so much fun, as did I!  And then we had some friends over for munchies and to watch the Superbowl...we watched it between conversations and eating!  HA!!  Happy GROUNDHOG DAY!!!!

HAPPY FEBRUARY 1ST!!

 We got another dump of snow, shocking I know.  So, Daddy was off today and cleaned off our rink, the kids had a skate and a few hours of sledding fun too!  And then we headed to Gramma Shirley's and Grandpa George's because they had their grand kids for an overnight visit and the kids LOVE playing together.  The had a dance-off on the Wii and then we all enjoyed dinner together at our place.  After they left and we got the girls to bed, we went out to dig ourselves out...which took until after 11pm...Welcome to winter in Canada I guess...eh?
