1st activity...skating!!!

After sleeping in and having some yummy breakfast (that my hubby made!) we headed to the lake and went skating and played hockey...well Mark did, I am not a very good hockey player!!  It was fun though!!

So, we are here and it is so quiet...We got settled in with some drinks and headed out to the hot tub for an evening of much needed relaxing...We checked on the girls and they are doing just fine with Nana!  Thanks Gramma for hanging out until Nana arrived! 

Our little get-away...

With Mark being off (again!) this week, we decided to seek some babysitter(s) and take off for a few days, to relax together...

We rented this little cottage with a hot-tub...it HAD to have a hot-tub...looking forward to some time to do NOTHING for a few days.  With the holidays, lots of company over the past little while and Mark being away so much, we thought it would be good for us.  (After thinking about when the last time we even went on a date together we thought it was about time.  We had a dinner date together in September and we went on a date in May...WOW...huh...we are really looking forward to the next few days...)

Ice is ready!!!

The weather has been a little uncooperative since we have started trying to make a rink on the lake, but it is good to go now!!  We tried it out this morning and it was pretty good!

Maddie took a few breaks for some snacks and water...and Miaya needed some too!

We spent a few hours here today and will be back...It is a great way to have some fun and get some fresh air!

Good-bye tree!

Another tree was sacrificed for our enjoyment...and lost many needles.  Another year and many wonderful memories...and we can't wait to see what the New Year will bring and we can't wait to "sacrifice" another tree in 11 months or so...

Popcorn and a movie...

...and we all sat down and watched it together.  But we all had to have our own bowl of popcorn!

What??!!! No power...

We woke up this morning to no power...it went out before 5am.  So, the huge breakfast we had planned had to be cooked on the BBQ.  We had a huge feast...it was very yummy!! 

We went to the lake to check out our rink but the weather was less than cooperative overnight.  It rained and the wind picked up quite a bit which brought all the heavy snow off the trees...quite a mess.  So, hopefully we can keep the rink up and skate another day!!

Pat, Bran and the kids left just as the rain started.  We had to stay out and clean all the snow that had fallen off the roof and we wanted to get the driveway cleared of the ice before it re-froze.  We were soaked but got lots accomplished.  We had a helper too, so that was nice!!  We got power back in the afternoon, so we were able to get inside and get back to normal.
