Camping adventure!!

Gramma and Grandpa are camping for a while and invited Maddie to join them for a sleepover...So we headed out in the boat to send her off!!

We had a visit at the campsite and joined Zavhier who was already there!! And Miaya did some exploring in the dirt! She also showed off her walking skills as she was trying to follow the kids around!!

It was sooooo hot so we headed down to the beach for a swim, the water was just like soup!!! Ahhhh, we love summer!!!Miaya and Daddy hung out in the shade while I joined a game of water football already in progress!!

Before we were off for our boat ride home, the kids were digging in the sand after taking them to the store for some sugar! (You are welcome Gramma and Grandpa...not like they weren't hyper enough!!!)

And because Zavhier asked so nicely (he is tooo cute to say no to!) we bought him a pair of goggles with ducks on them for their many visits to the water!!!

We said our farewells and headed off for the boat ride home...And as you can see, Miaya had a nap on my lap!!! I hope our Maddie has a GREAT time, she deserves it!!!

I may have rocked our sweetheart a little longer tonight. I was taking a trip down memory lane thinking back a year ago when she was still snuggled tight in my belly...safe from the world. I will never forget that day...or at least I hope not too. After wanting to take Maddie for dinner and enjoy a swim at the beach because it was as hot then as it is now, Mark would have NONE of it! He insisted I go get checked out after watching me hunch over every piece of furniture we owned for the past several hours and he won. In just a few short wee hours, we would meet our baby for the 1st time. The joy she has brought us over the past 364 days has been more then we could ever have hoped for. Our family would soon be complete...and our sweet Maddie would be a big sister!! Something she has wanted and begged for for quite some time...Good night my love, for tomorrow you will be 1 year old!! xoxoxoxox

Good Friends...

are hard to find, so when we do, we keep them forever and ever!!! Thanks for stopping by Janelle and hanging out! It was great to be able to get caught up again:) Hope you enjoyed yourself too...Even though our visits are few and far between, it makes me enjoy them even more...xo

Miaya's 1st Birthday Party!!!!

Today is a BIG day for our almost-one-year-old!!! I made her a cake...definitely my worst creation but it was made with so much love!! The party goers enjoyed some food while trying to keep cool...it was stinking hot!!

The kids tried to stay cool by having water fights...with balloons and the hose...Maddie may have been getting everyone wet, so I got her back...and then she got Gramma pretty good, twice:) All in good fun though and like Gramma said, "It's just water!!!"

Time for cake! We all sang to the birthday girl and she is such a ham so she smiled and clapped for herself too!!! Look at her...so sweet!!!

And then Miaya had her 1st piece of cake...mmmmm...at least we know she is definitely my daughter because she loved it!!!

After cake...Daddy and I threw her in the tub for a rinse off...

And then she got to open her gifts...or play with the wrap, whatever you want to call it!!!

Today was an absolutely wonderfully awesome day:))) Considering it was over 30 degrees plus the humidity, the cute smiley birthday girl didn't seem to mind. Today is a day I hope to never forget...

Sleeping beauty

The weather has been so very hot this week and because we spend our days outside doing anything to keep cool, Miaya has been napping longer than usual...right into supper hour! So, I have to wake her up, which I don't like doing. She just looks so comfy and sweet...don't you think?

WATERSKIING...for the 1st time!!!

And I missed it!!! We were at the neighbours today and I had to get Miaya home for a nap and out of the sun. When I left our brave girl did this!!!! Look at her smile!!! We are soooooo proud of her!!

(We have an identical board to teach the kids how to water-ski however Maddie never wants to try it...so I know if I was there, she would not have done it!)

A day at the beach...

A great start to our summer...hanging out with some long time friends at the beach for the day!! There was 15 of us in total and the weather was perfect!!

We all packed picnic lunches and the kids had a blast together!! And the Mom's watched and chatted!

Miaya FINALLY fell asleep for about 35 minutes...why nap, she may miss something!!

We stayed all day, does Maddie look tired??!!! Both girls fell asleep on the drive home...What a great start to what is going to be a great summer!!!
