Visitors!

Our summer has been action packed!  My sister and family arrived Friday and they were waiting for us when we arrived home a few days ago!  The weather this week has been awesome so we headed out for a boat ride and some swimming today!

It's always fun catching up and seeing the kids hang out together!  We all enjoyed the water a lot and got some great pictures!!

And then the kids took turns being tossed (HIGH) in the air by Uncle Jay and Daddy/Uncle Mark!  We got some wicked shots!!

And even Nana had a turn!!

After a beautiful day on the water, we headed back for some pizza and beverages!!

Homeward bound...

It was amazing how fast the park cleared out.  Many left after the race, many left early...we left around 10am.  We stopped for some more shopping, Daddy grabbed a little nap while we went in, he had a long drive ahead of him.  The girls did well again on the way home, it was hot and we were all pooped.

Unfortunately we had a bit of a wait at the border but whatever, what do you do right?  We stopped for some supper around 7:30pm, got our jammies on and kept on trucking...we arrived home about 12:30am...what a wonderful time we had and now it's on to our next adventure!

Start your engines!!!!!!

Another hot one today!  We got up, fed, and ready to go!  (I thought it was funny this am bc I got right into the showers but the line up for the men's was over 25 long...lol...goes to show that there are more men than women here!)  We got lots of drinks and snacks to keep us all happy!
The atmosphere was just pure excitement!  I loved it!  I think we all did!  The girls were awesome!!  Our seats were the very top section (53) and the top row and we LOVED them!  You could see everything!

Daddy rented headphones and a video cam for him and Maddie to enjoy the race!  Although he was stoked about being here, the announcers make the race so you have to know what's going on!  Miaya and I were good, they shared with me a few times!

It truly was something to see...We will definitely be doing it again...something crossed off our bucket list!

So, Daddy is a dedicated fan, #48 Jimmie Johnson.  It wasn't one of his finer days though, he was out very early in the race, blew the engine in  his back up car...There was a lot of cussing going on in the headphones...My hubby was pissed...he said we should just leave...we didn't of course but that was some crappy luck.
Miaya did well for the first 2 hours and then enjoyed playing some games on the phone...whatever keeps us all happy!

Just a totally spectacular experience, one we can't wait to do again!!  A few things we would change though...like my hubby sharing a few beer with me...and we will try a different track next year for a different experience!  So fun though!!

1st time flyers!!

Pre qualifying Race day!

The pre-qualifying was on today as well as the truck races!  (I should note now that the weather is HOT...32-34 degrees hot and that is just the heat, there is a little humidity but not as much as at home.)  We got packed up and headed over to the track!

We no sooner got to our seats, I got my camera out only to take pictures of Daddy's driver (#48) spin out and blow up his motor!  Daddy was disappointed.

He'll be in tomorrow's race with his back up car, so that's great news!!  The girls lasted an hour and a half and then I brought them back to the trailer.  It was too hot for them to sit there and watch all the truck race and then expect them to sit all day tomorrow in the heat again.  (And I really want to watch the race tomorrow so we left!)

Daddy enjoyed the whole race and the girls and I chilled out in the shade at the trailer.  Daddy bought them this cool plane while we were shopping, so they played with it when he got back!

It was another awesome day, we are all exhausted though.  The busy days are catching up with us all.  We can't wait for Race day!!!

Taking it all in!

This morning after getting some sleep, we headed over to the track to check stuff out.  There was so much to look at, see and do!  What an experience though!  My hubby was in his glory!!  And although I don't need to sit and watch the races on TV with him, (I am quite happy with the 5 minute play by play at the end), this is one of those things that is much better live!  So cool!!

Maddie was so close to winning $40 cash too on the big wheel!  After we were done at the track, we headed back for a late lunch and then to do some Back to School shopping!!  And we bought some new rims for our truck!  Some things are just cheaper here!  We were pooped at the end of the day...
