Ahhhh WARMTH!!

 We headed to Gramma and Grandpa's to pick Maddie up after her sleepover, had some brunch and then Uncle Donnie and the kids showed up for a quick visit!  Donnie and I took them for a little stroll and they had to head home, which is what we did to enjoy some sunshine!!!  What a beautiful day!!!!!!!

Care free and LOVED it!!

I felt like a kid in a candy store today...I got to go out ALONE!!!  ALL DAY!!!!  Maddie was having a sleepover at Gramma and Grandpa's and Miaya hung out with Nana and this Momma went shopping....ALONE!!!  It was heaven!  I love my kids, don't get me wrong, it was just so nice to go from store to store without having to buckle and unbuckle car seats!  I went shopping for Miaya's new big girl bed and furniture and was successful!!  And after a few more stops, my last one was to visit my bro and his family for a bit before heading home.  After getting Miaya to bed, we went out to an old friend's Jack and Jill, chatted with some people we haven't seen in a long time and got Daddy home to bed (really late) because he had to work...again.  It was such a relaxing day!!

Snow has melted...

 but it's still cold.  The girls and I played outside after supper and Daddy got home before they were in bed so he joined in the fun for a little while before we headed in! 

What The @*%! is that you ask...

 
SNOW!!!  On April 25th.  And it's COLD!!  I now we live in Canada and all but this sucks.

Little helpers!

Miaya, Jersey and I were Grandpa George's little helpers this morning!  We helped him rake a big mess up and then headed to the dump!  And then it rained...the rest of the day and got cold!

 

 So when we picked Maddie up at school tonight, playing outside was out of the question.  We headed to McDonald's instead where the girls had a blast!

Nature...

 Was full of deer this morning.  They were in the same place for over an hour...there is usually 6 of them that travel together and they come back at night too...Many people in our area have been dealing with flooding this spring and although we are nowhere near that here, our water level has gone up at least 8-10 inches...Can't wait until the water is warm enough to boat and swim in!!

Finally...some warmer weather!!!

 Spring is in the air!!  A little cooler this morning but as the day went on, it warmed up and the sun stayed out ALL day!!  We got the trampoline up, the lawn raked and lots of playtime in too!!!

Our wonderful sleeper...

 Little Miss Miaya has always been a wonderful sleeper...she likes her 12 hours at night and still loves her naps!  This morning, I went in after 8:30 am, thinking she would be awake, but nope, still sound asleep!!  I opened her curtains, took pictures and Maddie and I were talking in her room, but she didn't budge!  We made pancakes, ate them and then I thought she best get up...at 9 am!!!!  Sleepy head!!!!!  She still loves her crib and we've been talking to her about her getting a big girl bed like Maddie and although she says that's "cool" I know she will miss her bed.  And we only hope she sleeps as well in her new bed as she does in her crib...

Fun filled Saturday!

The girls started their morning playing in Maddie's room with their Ipods (and Mommy's phone) and after breakfast we headed to Auntie Kelly and Uncle Donnie's for a visit!

 The kids always play so hard!  They turned the living room into a mini gym where they all practiced their somersaults!  We stayed for the whole day, had dinner and left when we were all pooped!  Miaya passed out, my phone in her hand, around 8:30 pm after no nap today, she was pooped!!

 And this is a terrible picture...you can see nothing, but we were on our road, almost home and a HUGE...I mean HUGE flipping MOOSE walked in front of the truck!!!!  I WAS SO EXCITED!!!  Maddie was quietly sitting in the back and I'm yelling..."MADDIE LOOK AT THAT HUGE MOOSE!!!!!"  She tells me to calm down...It was the coolest thing!!!  A few of out neighbours have seen it but I have never...the thing was massive!!  By the time I was done staring at it, I realized I had my camera but I couldn't get it...we live in our own little nature park/zoo!!!  I love it!!!

GET LOST!!

We have all had enough of waking up to this yucky cold white stuff!!!  I know it's not much but it continued all day with some hail and way too much wind.  Poor Daddy had to work outside in the wind all day...I know he has had enough of the cold.  COME ON SPRING!!!!!

Almost 8 years later...

 but we finally did it!!  As soon as we saw this house my brilliant hubby always knew how he wanted us to do the ceiling...and we did it!!  We think it is a GRAND improvement...we still have to finish the trim all around the outside however it looks pretty damn good!!  (And for those of you wondering what we did with the awesome fancy lights that were up...they are here for the first lucky buyer...LOL!!!!

 

It was a group effort...I sanded, stained and got all the boards ready, Daddy, Grandpa and Grandpa George and a friend of ours helped.  (Thank goodness for the awful weather last week because Daddy had a day and a half off, and that is when he and a friend finished it!)  And I had to re-stain all the cut edges after it was all put up! 

We are very happy with the pot lights, our new fan and everything!  I have actually just lied on the couch and stared up at it for a few minutes...that's how much we love it!!  My hubby has wonderful ideas and we work so well together to get them done! 

So close we can taste it...

Spring, that is!!  And although is was a little chilly this morning, it warmed up as the day went on!  Miaya and I spent the morning outside playing and then she did some fishing!

 
 After we picked Maddie up at school, we ate dinner in the park and played!!

Girls ROCK!

It was just me and my girls this weekend, with Daddy working and staying in the city.  We did some errands Saturday and when we got home, Nana and I introduced Maddie to Mary Poppins!  Which she loved and is singing the songs still.  And today, we took advantage of the little sunshine Mother Nature threw our way, we went outside and got all of our summer stuff out and played.  Maddie made homemade pizzas for supper and we watched Annie...also another movie I love!!  We had a fun, relaxing weekend!  (Notice Maddie is still in her p.j's during dinner....she showered and dressed in a new pair after the movie...that's the sign of a good day!!)

Buses cancelled...in April...WHAT???!?!?!

Oh ya...winter seems to have over stayed it's welcome this year...WE WANT SPRING!!!!!  There was an enormous amount of freezing rain...some snow...wind...enough already!!!  Daddy didn't even leave the driveway this morning, it was just a mess...And this is what the windows looked like when Maddie got up this morning...And she got a long weekend!!

 

WOW butter...

 tastes and looks just like Peanut butter but it's not and Maddie who has NEVER tasted it due to her allergy has taken a real liking to it.  (It took a while and a few conversations, some that ended in tears as well...) but she likes it!  She still will not eat it on it's own yet but LOVES peanut or WOW butter cookies and another square I make...So, after Maddie's friend left this afternoon, we did some baking!  The girls love to help but today, they made these on their own!  So big,our sweet little girls are becoming!

Busy Saturday!

 
 
Daddy has been very busy with work lately (and will be for the next month.)  So, this was his last weekend off and he really wanted to get some of the ceiling done.  He called Grandpa who came to help which is great and Zavhier had a sleepover at Gramma and Grandpa's last night so he came to hang with the girls for the morning.  The kids put on a show that we all had to participate in...always good for a laugh!

 Gramma picked Zavhier up after lunch and then Maddie had a girlfriend for a sleepover.  The boys worked hard on the ceiling and here's a sneak peek!  Grandpa will be back in the morning to help again...thank you!!!

A great way to spend a Tuesday!

 

After a great sleep, we all got up and out the door so we could walk Maddie to the bus stop...it was COLD and WINDY...man, I am done with winter!  I love the fact that the kids get along so well and I love having them all here together!  After getting Maddie off and waving, we went for a walk but that ended before we were ready because Zavhier (even after me saying don't do that;) decided that the ditch full of "ice" looked inviting...oops...thank goodness it was only knee deep but his pants and boots instantly froze...CRAP!! 

 
 

We got home, warmed up with some hot chocolate, played and decorated some Easter eggs because we didn't have time to do it Sunday when we were together!  I got all the kids bathed, dressed and fed before we had to head to pick Maddie up at school!  It was so darn windy and just bitterly cold, but we went to the park and used up some energy before taking Maddie to dance class.  The kids enjoyed watching her:)  Then, it was off to Gramma and Grandpa's, where we ate dinner and I handed the 2 kiddies that weren't mine over to Gramma.  We all had a lot of fun!  Can't wait to have them all together again!!
